hitting the right shot at the right time.
Ever hit a golf shot into the wind and have it balloon way up into the air causing a severe loss of distance?
This tip may help you if you play where the WIND blows like a hurricane in florida. The key to playing shots into the wind are LOW shots. In order to play a low shot, you need to choke up on the club about an inch or so and play the ball position back in your stance. The more the wind, the more back you play the ball. This will produce a nice LOW shot, hopefully not ballooning into the air. Don’t be afraid to do this with ANY club in the bag, especially the driver.
On an opposite note, if you have wind at your back and you want to bomb it out there, make sure you grip the club normally, but play the ball position a little more up in your stance than usual. Tee the ball higher and let it RIP! For your irons, don’t tee the ball too high or you’ll hit the ball too high on the club face causing a loss of distance, and we don’t want that!
Hope this helps!
